Rick's Sand Rail

Rick Kinslinger recently picked up this 2004 custom built mid-travel 2+2 sand rail. It was built in early 2004 by a local aircraft mechanic.

The power plant is a 1915 cc VW motor with a T-4 turbo. It is set up to drink 100 octane unleaded fuel. The headers are Jet-Hot coated. The fuel is drawn from a fuel cell and then metered by a pair of Dellorto carbs. Suspension is made up of 4 Fox nitrogen shocks equipped with limiting straps. This gives 14 inches of rear travel and 12 inches of front travel. The back end consists of a wide swing arm kit, Porsche 930 axles. Whoa power comes form rear disc brakes. Passengers are secured to the bucket seats with a 5-point harnesses. Rick, how about some running shots?
