Our third meet at Speedworld was help today. We had about 20 cars show up and 15 of those cars opted to enter our bracket race after the morning time trials. The weather was just about perfect with blue skies, a slight breeze and temperatures in the high 70's. After winning the first two PVHR events, Andy and his 11 second Cobra Mustang fell victim to the big red eye in the first round, leaving it open for a first time winner! Strangely enough with three PVHR events on the books now, we have yet to actually have a Palo Verde employee win the event, they've come close with a runner up, but no big prize. Well, there's always next time! Rambo's car wasn't back together yet and my GS just hit the road yesterday, so we were both regulated to spectator. The next get together though will see at least 2 additional cars!

Here's some pictures from eliminations and some time only runs. The car model make up was comprised mostly of Mustangs, with the majority running out of the Performance Solutions Racing stable and the High Performance Stangs website. There were a few cars that weren't running the Ford blue oval, we had a Dodge, a Camaro, a Z06 Corvette and a few other brands as well. The guys from the Palo Verde Water Reclamation Facility once again showed up with numerous cars to run. We want to thank everyone who came out hope to make the next event even bigger by using some more planning to get the word out further in advance.

Mark made his second set of runs with his 2004 Mach 1. His first outing he was traction plagued and only made one sub 14 second run. This time he showed up with a Line Loc to better heat the tires. His times started at a 13.80 and got better most of the day, ending with a 13.3 second run. However first round he ran too quick and broke out.

Steve brought out his Dodge to run today. He's also raced his big block '73 Camaro and his Dodge Ram truck. The second picture he's running with Tony Priebe, another first time PVHR runner.

The finals were between a pair of Mustangs, the Cobra was driven by Tony Nesbitt and one by Wild Bill. Before the final round they decided to just split the prize in half instead of the original $200 to the winner and $80 to the runner up. Congratulations to both guys for making it to the finals!

Here's some of the other cars that out there racing today, the blown Nova was laying down some 10 flats.

End of the day, and we hit the road back to town. My GS performed well this weekend with it's first street time since 1995. Next step will be to see what kind of time it will turn in the quarter!
