January 2004
The annual boat show rolled into Phoenix's Civic Plaza. The show had about the normal make up of family boats, bass boats, a couple of blow boats and a few performance rigs. A bunch of us met over at Hooters in the Arizona Center after the show to continue into the evening. Click on the photos for a larger version.
KACHINA
The Kachina gang had their usual assortment of wild graphic's on hand. We were hoping to see the new 38 footer, but it wasn't there. The outdrive picture is all polished! I hate polishing my tabs, much less an entire outdrive! Nice looking canopies on one of their vee hulls.
FOUNTAIN
One 27 foot Fountain was on hand.
SLEEKCRAFT / MAGIC
Sleek and Magic had a number of boats there including their new 34 foot cat. Nice looking rig, supposedly ran over 120 mph with twin 1000 horse motors.
ELIMINATOR
Eliminator had some nice boats. A 28 "low pro" with twin 575's. A 30 Daytona with twin big blocks that was testing on Lake Pleasant last weekend, ripping off a few 120+ mph runs before running out of lake! A new 27 Daytona was also on hand as well as a 38 Eagle with the new canopies.
SUNSATION
Boat Plex, who had the Eliminator display also had this 32 Sunsation. Probably one of the deals of the show, it was stickered at 99 grand.
SKATER
32 foot Skater, Number 6 drives, and I think it had 575's, what else needs to be said!
NORDIC
CHECKMATE
Now after the show........
Someone told a waitress it was Slick's b-day and they dragged him up on a stool to sing to him. I was figuring on a Kodak moment when he fell off that stool and broke his ass! Oh yeah, he didn't fall, and it wasn't his birthday :)
Donnie and Tonna
Donnie and our waitress.
Donnie and Cindy. Hmmm, I'm beginning to see a pattern here when he's out "unsupervised :)
Jordan and his better half!
Jimmy and his new wife, Christine
Slick, Jordan and their girls enjoying the wings provided by the AHBA, thanks Art & Jim!
Cindy and Randy. Cindy was kind enough to make us all name tags, since a lot of folks knew each other from the boat forums, but had never met face to face.
Tonna, that's NOT why Cindy made tags!
Patrick, Tonna and Mitch.
The whole gang at the start of the evening, before it got crowded!
