Power for those drag strip blasts is compliments of a 438 cubic inched of big block Ford. The block is a Ford Motorsports unit. The engine features a 4.60 inch  bore and a 3.30 inch stroke. 13.5 to 1 BRC pistons swing on aluminum connecting rods. The cylinder heads are Trick Flow A-460 heads equipped with 2.30 inch intake valves and 1.88 inch exhaust valves. The camshaft is a solid roller. Fuel delivery is handled by a single plane intake and a single Holley Dominator carb.

The rear is a 9" Ford unit with 4.56 gears held steady by a 4-link suspension. The front wheels are controlled with QA1 coil over front struts and a custom K-frame. Dave did all the chassis work as well, which is a side job for the Lockheed employee.

The transmission is a GM 2-speed Powerglide with a 1.76 1st gear, mated to the Ford 385 series motor with an Ultra-bell and a 6000 rpm stall torque converter.
