Sept. 2004, Speedworld Motorplex outside of Phoenix, held
a "Domestics vs. Imports show. While 15 second Hondas aren't necessarily what
attracted me, once in a while you will run across an import that has the go to
match the show. I thought there might be some decent domestic iron as well. In
the 15 years I've been going out to Speedworld, I have never seen so many
spectators at a Speedworld event! The stands were packed the entire length
of the track and the fence was two deep. There was also a car show with plenty
of entries. Later in the night (midnight!) there was going to be a bikini
contest and Jello wrestling! Hmmmm, maybe that's why the crowds showed

Chevy pick up with a big loud blower motor! I think he clicked off a high 9.
I honestly don't know what this used to be! It made a lot of noise on the burn out and then puked on the ground. Saw it in the pits, looks like a turbo 4 for motivation.
Nice injected big block Camaro. He ran squirrelly low 10.
Alcohol Funnycar that ran out of the California Injected Funny Car circuit. Posted a traction lacking 9.
Turbo smallblock in this Camaro. Sounded pretty good on the burn out but coughed and wheezed it's way down the track.
Most of the car show participants were imports, but there was a few domestics. This guy spent a lot of time on this Mustang!
The always present two-wheeled racers, and we had domestics and imports here too!
Late model Mach 1. He couldn't get this thing through the first two gears without a bunch of tire spin, but did still manage a couple of low 14's.
Turbo Bug rip off a low 12-second pass! The other motor is a nitrous injected big block in an early Chevy II. I think the Chevy put down an 8.60!
Nitrous Mustang. Never saw him make a run though.
